Communicating with Spirits
Spirits use their own energy to manifest themselves and may provide whatever vailance or appearance they think will be most meaningful to you. They do not always show themselves, as we are able to receive messages and recognize their presence without seeing them. When they present themselves in a body, they appear vibrant and healthy regardless of their condition at the time of passing. They no longer have bodies and therefore experience no physical pain, disabilities or illness.
Spirits may be seen externally the same as living bodies or they may appear as visions in the mind. Closing your eyes may make it easier for you to see them.
Most people are more receptive to visits from spirits while in a dozy state or sleeping. When a spirit actually visits you when you are sleeping, the encounter feels very real.
Everybody is able to channel spirits. Some people are just more aware of this than others. Many of the messages received are subconscious, as the primary method spirits use to communicate involves placing thoughts in your head. This sometimes makes it difficult to distinguish the difference between your own thoughts, messages received from spirits and those channeled from your higher self or intuition.
It does not matter what their native language was when in their bodies, after passing, they use a universal language that each of us interprets into our own language. Spirits may convey messages through sight, sound, touch, taste or smell.
Your master guide is with you throughout and in between all of your lives. Master guides have not had any lives on the Earth's plane.
Each of your other spirit guides has shared one or more lives with you. Spirits accomplish work during life on this plane and also after crossing over. Some of your spirit guides are loved ones who have passed on in this lifetime. You may have also shared one or more past lives with them.
Some of the areas of strength that your spirit guides use to help you may not have been evident in the current life you shared with them, but may have been developed in one or more of their past lives. For example, a spirit guide who is assisting a person with aspects of his business may have acquired those skills as a shop owner in a past life.
Spirit guides change throughout your lifetime. They are matched with you depending upon what you are working on and once the goals of your relationship are met, they move on.
In the past, the media has portrayed most spirits as ghosts. This has led some people to be frightened by the presence of spirits.
Ghosts are spirits that have not yet accepted that they have passed and therefore have not successfully transitioned to the other side. You may assist them by telling them they have passed on and asking them to go toward the light.
Spirits that have successfully transitioned to the other side sometimes make their presence known to provide help or receive acknowledgement. Loved ones in spirit are eager to provide reassurance that they are doing well and sometimes offer helpful advice or encouragement.
The best way to develop your ability to receive messages from spirits is to build in periods of calm so that messages can get through to you.
